Position: Associate Pastor
Specific Title: Generalist

Major Responsibilities:

This call is for a general Associate Pastor who will have the opportunity to work in all areas of the church’s ministry. This position includes worship leadership, preaching, presiding over the sacraments, and teaching in the Christian education program. The Associate Pastor will be expected to work closely with the diaconate and will share home and hospital visitation responsibilities with the Senior Pastor.

Our Associate Pastor will have the primary responsibility for developing and leading Westminster Presbyterian Church in a comprehensive program of Evangelism as we seek to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ. The Associate Pastor will also be expected to work with the Session in developing and executing a program for young adults.

As this is a generalist position, the person we are seeking will need to have the flexibility and willingness to work with the staff and serve where needed.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is seeking a faithful follower of Jesus Christ who loves Jesus and has a passionate desire to share that love with others. We are seeking someone who has a thorough love and understanding of the Reformed faith and the Presbyterian Church (USA). While we do not expect our Associate Pastor to be able to walk on water, we do seek someone with energy, intelligence, and imagination, who is a gifted communicator who can preach, pray and inspire. We seek a person with sound judgment, maturity, and integrity who is ready to work hard and love deeply.

The Reverend Tammy Gregory Brown has served Westminster Presbyterian Church since December 2000. Prior to that time, Reverend Brown served churches in Texas and Georgia. Reverend Brown is a graduate of Lyon College and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. At Westminster, Reverend Brown serves as Head of Staff and as the staff resource person for Worship, Finance, Endowment, Mission, Evangelism, Fellowship, and Nominating Committees.
